Open Orchestra, which has become a popular phenomenon around the world, including Finland, is now being implemented in Kuopio! In Open Orchestra, you can experience the sound and orchestral works of a large orchestra from within the music and follow the musicians’ work up close. The audience can freely move among the musicians during the concert, and the music surrounds listeners from all sides. The programme of the hosted concert will feature classical hit tunes, and the atmosphere of the music will be enhanced by spectacular lighting.

Half of the concert will be listened to without a seat, standing and walking around among the orchestra. The other half will be spent sitting in a seat-numbered grandstand on the floor. The change of place will take place during intermission. The audience will be given more detailed instructions on-site. Due to the special implementation of the presentation, there is only a limited number of places for sale for each performance, so be sure to book your place on time.

The Open Orchestra concept was originally developed by the Copenhagen Philharmonic, and in Finland, the concept was previously implemented by the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra.

Please note that half of the concert will be spent moving on stage among the orchestra’s players and instruments. In the concert hall, the performance will involve transitions to and from the stage by stairs. The concert is not suitable for children under school age or for people with reduced mobility.

Please, also note that there is a very limited number of seats available for the performance.

Duration approx. 1 hour 20 minutes, including interval.
