Violinist Anna-Liisa Bezrodny guest performing as the soloist

On Thursday 28th of October at 7 pm violinist Anna-Liisa Bezrodny returns to the Kuopio Music Centre Concert Hall interpreting Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy with the KSO. The orchestra conducted by Johannes Gustavsson performs also Carl Nielsen’s Second Symphony “Four Temperaments”. The concert begins with the first movement from Parisian Scenes by Valborg Aulin.

At the KSO concert on the 28th of October the awarded and internationally known violinist Anna-Liisa Bezrodny plays Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy. The piece is based on authentic Scottish melodies. Bruch was interested in the idea and the sound of folk music and used it as the material of his several works.

Musical humor is represented by Carl Nielsen’s Second Symphony. It was composed after a visit to a restaurant where Nielsen saw a comic picture on the wall portraying the four human temperaments: choleric, phlegmatic, melancholic and sanguine. He interpreted them into a symphonic form where each movement was named after the temperament types.

The evening begins with first movement from Swedish composer Valborg Aulin’s Parisian Scenes (1886), which reflects impressions from her stay in the French metropolis. The heading of the movement is Noisy Life – In the Distance We Hear Bells Ringing and Mingling with the Sound of an Organ.

The duration of the concert is about 1 hour 45 minutes with an intermission.
