In 1997 Samuli Edelmann released an album called Vaiheet (“Stages”) including songs written by his father, Toni Edelmann to texts by Goethe, Hesse and Shakespeare. The album was a huge hit. It’s recording session was a massive production with the Paris Symphony Orchestra but Edelmann has never before performed these songs in Finland live with a symphony orchestra.

The songs of the Vaiheet album have since been an integral part of Samuli’s repertoire. After the passing of his father, Samuli Edelmann released Vaiheet 2 (“Stages 2”) in 2019 including more ofToni Edelmann’s compositions – now with a smaller ensemble.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the first Vaiheet album we now bring these beloved songs on stage with a symphony orchestra for the audience to enjoy – finally!
