In Spring 2023 Lumit, the Kuopio upper secondary school specializing in music, theatre and dance will host the National Days of the Upper Secondary Schools of Arts in Finland on 25-26 April, 2023. The event will be held at the new premises of Lumit. All 13 Upper Secondary Schools of Arts in Finland with over 1.600 students all together will be invited to attend the event.

The National Days will end with a joyful concert with the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra and conductor Atso Almila. In the beginning we will hear performances by choirs from various upper secondary schools of arts from different parts of Finland. The Summer Cantata based on poems by Eino Leino and composed by Jussi Chydenius will introduce the orchestra with a grand youth choir combining singers from different youth choirs. We will also enjoy music by Jean Sibelius and Jukka Kuoppamäki. The students will also be playing in the orchestra together with the professional musicians of the KSO.
