Start of the Spring Season 2021: The Legend of Cello livestream on 21st of January

The spring season 2021 of the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra starts on Thursday 21st of January at 7 pm with a livestream concert The Legend of Cello. The soloist, cellist Arto Noras plays Jaakko Kuusisto’s Cello Concerto dedicated to Noras. The concert ends with the glorious 5th symphony of Sibelius conducted by the KSO Chief Conductor Kuusisto. Due to the corona restrictions there will be no live audience at the Kuopio Music Centre Concert Hall but there is a unique chance for the KSO audience to win 4 VIP sofa seats to hear the concert live on site.

Kuopio Symphony Orchestra’s online concert The Legend of Cello will be livestreamed on Thursday 21st of January at 7 pm from the Kuopio Music Centre Concert Hall. Cellist Arto Noras plays Jaakko Kuusisto’s Cello Concerto, commissioned by the Naantali Music Festival at the initiative of its artistic director Arto Noras, to whom it is also dedicated. The online concert in Kuopio will be the second performance of the concerto by Noras.

Chief Conductor Jaakko Kuusisto has consistently realized his plan to play the whole cycle of Sibelius’ symphonies with the Kuopio Symphony – now it is time for Symphony No 5. The composer worked on his 5th symphony for a long time and made several versions and rewrites of it until it was polished into one of his most glorious and grand creations.

Thursday 21st of January at 7 pm LiveStream concert on the YouTube channel of KSO

The livestream concert will be published on the KSO’s YouTube Channel and the KSO’s website.  The concert is available at the KSO’s YouTube Channel until the end of the spring season 2021. The concert will be livestreamed on the 21st of January in cooperation with Taustamarkkinat BGMT Oy.

The KSO will publish more information about other concerts for the spring season after the corona restrictions will be aligned for the following weeks. Information about the online concerts will be published on occasion.
