KSO plays Lemminkäinen Suite  with St. Michel Strings on 8th of September

FRSO solo cellist Tuomas Lehto as the soloist of Elgar’s Cello Concerto

On Wednesday 8th of September at 7 pm we’ll enjoy the grand sound of two orchestras – the KSO and St. Michel Strings – together at the Kuopio Music Centre Concert hall. The two orchestras conducted by Erkki Lasonpalo will perform together Sibelius’ Lemminkäinen Suite. The soloist will be cellist Tuomas Lehto. He will play Elgar’s intensive and beautiful Cello Concerto. The concert will be performed on the 9th of September also at the Concert house Mikaeli in Mikkeli.

The Kuopio Symphony Orchestra and St. Michel Strings will join together at the concert Lemminkäinen on the 8th of September. The ensemble will be conducted by Erkki Lasonpalo, the chief conductor of St. Michel Strings. Lemminkäinen Suite of Jean Sibelius is based on the Finnish national epic Kalevala.

The soloist will be Tuomas Lehto, the solo cellist of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, who performs internationally both as a soloist and chamber musician. Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto is the last notable work of the composer and creates an unforgettable atmosphere with an intense melancholy and beauty.

The concert will be performed on the 9th of September also at the Concert and Congress Hall Mikaeli in Mikkeli.
