Three young Finnish talents on stage on 7th of October

Violinist Otto Antikainen, cellist Senja Rummukainen and pianist Fanny Söderström interpreting Beethoven’s Triple Concerto

On Thursday 7th of October at the Kuopio Music Centre Concert Hall we may enjoy virtuoso playing of three young Finnish talents: violinist Otto Antikainen, cellist Senja Rummukainen and pianist Fanny Söderström who will interpret Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. After the intermission we will hear Mozart’s brilliant Jupiter Symphony. The concert is conducted by Tomas Djupsjöbacka.

The KSO concert Three in C will start with Fanny Mendelssohn’s Overture in C major. To this day Fanny Mendelssohn’s work has been overshadowed by that of her famous brother Felix. This overture, however, shows that also Fanny was an exceptional composer.

Next in the concert based on C major we will hear young awarded talents as the soloists of Beethoven’s triple concerto. The atmosphere varies from the soloist virtuosity to playful chamber music.

The concert will end with Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony, a piece that after 230 years since its first performance still raises adoration and amazement. The symphony is an exceptional masterpiece among Mozart’s compositions.

Unlike announced before, the concert is conducted by Tomas Djupsjöbacka who is known as a versatile musician with strong roots in chamber music. He was appointed Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Vaasa City Orchestra from the beginning of this year 2021.

The duration of the concert is approximately 1 hour 35 minutes including intermission.

Tickets: 33 / 27 / 11 / 4 € concert day discount ticket for students and youth under 20 years. The prices include the Kuopio Music Centre service fee 2 € / ticket. The service fees vary depending on the place of purchase.
