Symphonic Cinema is a visual concert experience that has never before been seen in Finland. In this innovative and unique new format classical music masterpieces are visualized into newly created dramafilms. The films, edited to the music, are created by Dutch film director Lucas van Woerkum who performs as ‘image soloist’.
In this concert the visual stories are entwined with two different compositions: Daphnis and Chloé and Sergei Rachmaninov’s Island of Death. The impressive ensemble consisting of two symphony orchestras is conducted by Ville Matvejeff, Chief Conductor of the Jyväskylä Sinfonia.
