This is the 21st time the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra’s traditional summer concert is organized! After a small break the orchestra will return to the beautiful and summery settings of the Peräniemi Kasino at Väinölänniemi.

The concert programme consists of orchestral music favourites from, for example, Edvard Grieg and Jean Sibelius as well as traditional and popular Finnish music by, for example, Reino Helismaa and Oskar Merikanto. The tradition also is that the audience will sing with the orchestra – this time two young students of the Kuopio Senior High School of Arts, Jaana Leskinen and Netta Vallius will lead the singing.

The Peräniemi Casino will open its doors on Wed 25 May at 5 pm.

If Mother Nature is on a good mood and we may enjoy pleasant weather you can also enjoy the concert from outside on the terrace, maybe even having a picnic with your friends and family. Due to the huge interest of the audience in previous years the Kasino has been full of people. Therefore, we suggest you arrive early. Gather your friends & come in good spirits to enjoy good music and good company!
