The KSO online concert The Road of Suffering and Hope is a combination of music from the Renaissance Era until the 20th century introducing composers from Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and Johann Sebastian Bach to Arvo Pärt. The programme is planned by cembalist Matias Häkkinen who will also lead the concert.

The themes of the concert reflect the events of Holy Week and the emotions of the Passion Play from suffering to death on the cross and eventually resurrection: sorrow, anxiety followed by serenity and hope. The concert introduces instruments such as recorder and ukulele together with conventional orchestral instruments, showing their expressive capability to adapt also into serious music.
