The Kuopio Music Centre Concert Hall has been the home of the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra since the Music Centre was completed in 1985. The Kuopio Music Centre is among the elite of Finnish concert and congress halls. It houses over 300 events annually and the attendance varies between 100,000-150,000. The Kuopio Music Centre offers versatile and high-class musical performances for music enthusiasts of all genres. The Kuopio Symphony Orchestra represents world-known guest conductors and soloists nearly every week on the Concert Hall stage and all the big names of the entertainment field also perform regularly at the Kuopio Music Centre.
Prior to the construction of the Music Centre, the rehearsing and concert facilities of the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra varied from the gymnasiums of local schools, the main hall and studio of the City Theatre to the Auditorium of the City Hall or the Kuopio University.
Driving instructions to the Kuopio Music Centre
The Kuopio Symphony Orchestra also gives concerts outside of the Music Centre Concert Hall, for example at the Kuopio Cathedral and the Auditorium of the City Hall and the Kuopio University. In addition the KSO gives guest performances around Finland in cooperation with professional orchestras and choirs.
